The 93rd Annual 2024 Southern Region Convention

Brothers of Alpha South,

On behalf of the Southern Region Board of Directors, we greet you in the true spirit of the fraternity!

It is our esteemed honor to issue this Convention Call for the 99th Anniversary (93rd) Southern Regional Convention scheduled for February 29 – March 3, 2024, in Charlotte, NC at the Charlotte Convention Center, where we will convene under the theme, “Alpha South: Boldly Advocating for Communities and Protecting Democracy”

The local host chapters and the convention planning team are working diligently to ensure that the brothers of Alpha South have a great time in Charlotte and that the “True Spirit of Fraternity” reigns supreme.

At this year’s Regional Convention, we will continue to challenge social justice and civil rights barriers, while ensuring that our brothers are given the tools and leadership training to prepare them best for leading current and future assaults against our freedoms and our democracy. We will also continue our robust efforts of providing brothers with significant personal and professional development through our Alpha South Training and Development Academy, and we will announce the names of the college brothers selected to participate in our 2024 South Africa Study Abroad Program.  Additionally, we will hear from our General President, Bro. Dr. Willis L. Lonzer III, as he gives the State of the Fraternity address, and Brother Howard, as he presents the State of the Southern Region since our last convention.

Please be reminded that while media attention has substantially decreased regarding COVID-19, the virus is still with us, and people are still being affected in significant ways. As such, please be advised that all registrants for the convention must show proof of vaccination for COVID-19.   There will not be a virtual option for the convention.

Regular registration is now open and runs until December 31, 2023. Late registration begins on January 2, 2024, and ends on January 26, 2024. There will be no registration after January 26, 2024. Additionally, there will be no on-site registration.   All registration must be done through Alpha MX.  Please log into your account, go to the Events tab, and scroll down to 2024 Southern Regional Convention in order to register.  Questions/Issues concerning registration should be emailed to registration@alphasouth.org.
